Responsible for the management of the operational activities of the Distribution department including warehousing, transportation, and physical distribution of finished goods to customers both internal and external.
Provide a high level of customer service consistent with optimum distribution and transportation costs.
Must provide operational control of the warehouse within company policies, procedures, budgets and other cost objectives.
Review warehouse productivity measurements and establish standards for acceptable levels of performance.
Evaluate employee performance against key measurements and initiate corrective actions to achieve a high level of performance if necessary.
Ensure all warehouse equipment and labor are deployed and managed properly to assure required service levels are met and consistent with company programs, customer requirements, and cost objectives.
Ensure an effective training program is in place for all new hires to attain a high standard of service and optimum productivity levels. Establish and maintain the operating budget for the department. Set and meet operational goals. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. 5 to 7 years’ experience in a warehouse, manufacturing environment, with increasing levels of supervisory responsibility. Previous experience in the food industry is preferred Must be people oriented and have the ability to interface with employees at all levels of the organization by utilizing excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Strong teaming and leadership skills. Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel.
